Surrogacy and adoption: an overview

  • Coram Chambers 9-11 Fulwood Place London, WC1V 6HG (map)

Following the success of our event earlier this year, Wilson Solicitors LLP are excited to team up again with the P3 Network and Coram Chambers. The speakers will aim to give you an idea of some of the things to consider before entering the surrogacy or adoption legal process and the route to being recognised as the legal parent of a child in England (and Wales).

The speakers are:

Bianca Jackson, head of the Alternative Families Practice Group at Coram chambers with particular expertise in surrogacy law and legal parenthood. She is highly knowledgeable about both the case law and the statutory provisions in this complex area of law, and has lectured and published articles on the subject for Family Law Week;

Amna Khaliq, a Partner and head of the Surrogacy team at Wilsons with experience in surrogacy cases;

Richard Westoby who is a proud dad through surrogacy and able to offer a personal perspective;

Michael Hanley, Senior Partner and head of the immigration department who will speak about the immigration applications and surrogacy agreements abroad; and

Helen Harper, a barrister specialising in children law with particular experience in domestic and international adoption.

The event is free and there will be an opportunity to ask questions over some refreshments at the end of the evening.
